Welcome to The Elm House! Located in downtown Suttons Bay, this four bedroom, 2.5 bath home is centrally located to all of the areas activities! One block from the TART Trail, two block from Suttons Bays shopping and restaurants, walking distance to Hop Lot Brewery and the beach. The home is in the heart of wine country, giving easy access to all of Leelanaus wineries. The Elm House is stocked with everything you could need!

Good to know

Start the morning at the provided coffee bar with coffee, cream, sugar, and teas. Make a 5 course meal in the fully stocked kitchen and gather around the large dinning table to enjoy each other. Want to eat out instead? Just walk the few blocks into town where you can pick from the numerous restaurants! From the local drinking hole to Wren with their 5 course meals, there is an option for everyone. Hang out in the family room with the smart TV or listen to one of the vinyls on record player. The basement offers a large game room and additional 65inch television with lounge area. Foosball, air hockey, and many other games for hours of entertainment! Walk right to the beach, also just a few blocks away. Refresh in one of the three bedrooms all with new memory foam mattresses. Bringing kiddos? Pack light! Pack and play, high chair, noise machine, toys and books are all provided! The TART Trail is just a block away! Rent bikes and have them waiting for you at the house or bring your own and leave in the over sized garage. Whatever your plan might be, the Elm House is fully stocked for time in or centrally located for ALL of Leelanau's adventures.

Other Details to Note

Winter: Bring your skates! At the end of the block is a full ice rink (when the weather allows). Even stocked with free to use hockey sticks.

We were here for a family vacation with three generations. All of us found the house very accommodating for our needs for comfort, entertainment, and, quiet time. We all ride bikes, like beautiful hikes, enjoy playing games, and love to cook. We would come back again!

This home in Sutton’s Bay was perfect! We had six adults and two toddlers and the space was just right. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked, there were so many toys and games for the kids, and the bedrooms were beautiful and comfortable. The location was so convenient and we walked into town every day - to the beach, the shops, the restaurants, and for ice cream! The bike trail is close as is the grocery store and Hop Lot’s amazing beer garden. We were impressed with this home and fell in love with this area of Michigan. Thanks, Kara, for sharing this little piece of the Leelanau Peninsula with us!

Our family enjoyed staying at Kara'a place over the 4th of July week. It had everything we could have wanted and more. We had fun playing games, air hockey, and foosball in the evenings. The home was stocked with everything you could want and then some. My husband and I walked the TART trail in the mornings and stopped for coffee in downtown Sutton's Bay. It is in a great location to visit wineries, breweries, and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, which we took advantage of visiting. We hope to visit again very soon.

I think this is the third property of Kara's that we have stayed at and again it was perfect! It was clean, great amenities and walkable location to town and a great bike trail for the kids. It had EVERYTHING the kids could want. Beds were so comfortable! Kara is one of the few hosts that it seems it's not just about "making a buck"(which is perfectly fine) but like she takes obviously takes pride in it and that is apparent everywhere you look in the house. Wish they were all like this!

We loved our stay at Kara's house. Fantastic location - very close walk to downtown Sutton's Bay and to the Leelanau Trail. Easy access to the rest of the peninsula and also to Traversey City. The house has so many small touches that really made our experience special (and unique as far as a typical airbnb) including tons of amenities for young kids (books, games, hi-chair, plates, etc), great beds and linens, and a plentiful supply of helpful items for the week (paper towels, soap, etc). We would highly recommend Kara's house to anyone looking for an option around Sutton's Bay.

Kara’s home in Sutton’s Bay was fantastic! She had every little welcoming detail perfected. Our 2 and 4 year old kids were in awe with the toy selection. They could come in and start playing immediately, which allowed us to unpack and settle in nicely. The decor was elegant. The beds were extremely comfortable. We got great sleep. There is a school playground just across the street that our kids loved to play at as well. The town and trail was so close. Walking to the beach was easy (even after running the Full Marathon). We have stayed at a lot of locations in the Traverse City area. This is one of our absolute favorites!

I had a fantastic stay! The home was stocked with every amenity you could imagine, making it one of the better places I’ve stayed. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing trip. The attention to detail really stood out, and the hosts clearly put effort into making guests feel at home. I’ve had the Elmo house saved for a long time on my wishlist and I’m so happy my friends and I finally got to stay there!! The house is amazing and the communication was excellent. I would 100% stay here again and recommend to anyone in a heartbeat!
